Obviously the landscape. This is already more than rewarding to see and totally worth the visit. But furthermore we challenge the brave ones amongst you to cross the glass bridge. It is 430 meters long, 6 meters wide and in 300 meters height... Shouldn't this be enough, you can still go bungee jumping for the extra adrenaline rush.

Don't forget to take a raincoat and umbrella. It tends to rain a lot especially in summer!

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Bad weather conditions can lead to closure of the bridge
  • Only 600 people are allowed on the bridge
  • Wallets and mobiles are only allowed in suitable cases

Salar de Uyuni | Bolivia

Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat. Not many know that in the middle of it there are a few "islands". They are made of very unusual looking formations.

WHERE TO STAY IN THE SALT FLAT

Since the salt flat is quite far away from all ciies, many hotels have been built over the time. A lot of them are made of salt blocks and are very popular tourist attractions.

Just don’t lick the walls. Seriously, that’s an actual rule.

HOW TO GET THERE

It's best to book a tour beforehand. Most of these are basically the same - 3 days, 2 nights. Normally the tours cost around 700 pesos bolivianos.  But it's important to pay attention to good reviews, since the tours can be quite exhausting. But it is definitely worth the trip!

EXTRA TIP

Make sure to get some picture inspirations before you go! Like taking some toys for example.

SAFE TRAVELS!

Buzludzha Monument | Bulgaria

If you're planning a trip to Bulgaria, you should definitely put the House Monument of the Bulgarian Communist party on your list. If that's too long, write down the name Buzludzha Monument.

GETTING INTO THE BULGARIAN UFO

Officially this building, reminding of an UFO, is closed and entry is not permitted.

But fear not! For the adventurous of you we will provide some tips to get in - at your own risk!
According to some recent visits, there is a  2ft hole on the ground, which leads underneath to the basement. It's been said, that cameras and alarms have been installed recently. Once activated, they leave you only about fifteen minutes until security shows up.

HOW TO GET THERE IN BULGARIA

Apparently there is no transportation to the monument. The best way to get there is to take a cab or a join a tour. Go visit before it collapses completely. Since there is no maintenance parts of the roofs are already beginning to fall down.

Rainbow Mountains | Zhangye Danxia Geopark | China

Zhangye Danxia in China has been voted one of the "six most beautiful landforms" by the Chinese National Geography Magazine. Due to their colours the are also called the Rainbow Mountains.

WHEN TO VISIT

First of all: Sunshine! Make sure you get a lot of sunshine the day you want to visit.

Secondly: We recommend you to either go early in the morning or the late afternoon in order to try and beat the crowd.

THE "TRUE COLOURS" OF THE RAINBOW MOUNTAINS - CHINA

Of course the landforms are beautiful, especially with a lot of sunlight. But be aware that most of the pictures online are highly photoshopped in order to look super colourful. We put some "real pictures" together for you, so you don't get disappointed when visiting.

Grand Prismatic Spring | Yellowstone National Park | USA

The Grand Prismatic Spring is not only the largest hot spring in the United States, it is also the third largest in the world.

A boiling rainbow

Back in the 18th century a group of fur trappers mentioned a "boiling lake". They most probably referred to the Prismatic Spring with its nearby geyser. The colours of it are because of bacterias and the mineral-rich water. Depending on the season you visit, the colours might vary.

How to get there

Just walking by and trying to see it from the sidewalk won't work. It also wouldn't do this beauty justice.

We recommend: Park at the Fairy Falls Trailhead. From there take with you:

  • the park map
  • enough water
  • sunscreen
  • hiking boots (or at least good tennis shoes)

Head south down the main loop road. Then look for something like a parking area on the right hand side of the road - close to the midway geyser basin.

On the map you will see the falls, where the spring is located. You will want to hike across from the grand prismatic spring. Then climb up the hill and enjoy the view!

Alien-like Looking Socotra Island | Yemen

Alien-like looking Socotra (Arabic: سُقُطْرَى‎‎ ) is an island in the Arabian Sea and part of Yemen. It is very isolated and ruled by hot and harsh weather.

Due to these weather conditions, the flora and fauna on the island is very unique. Around one third of its life is found only on this island and nowhere else on the planet.

Most alien-like looking place

Some trees, in order to store water, grow very obese looking trunks - hence the name "Adenium Obesum". Others, like the dragon-blood trees, grow large treetops to provide as much shade as possible in order to prevent evaporation. All these survival mechanisms result in something described as "the most alien-like looking place on earth".
